As much as possible, the layout, colour and font of the original document have been retained.

The main objects for which the Association is established are:-


(a)

To promote amongst Members knowledge of the design, construction, maintenance and operation of Locomotives and Carriages

(b)

To enable Members to meet and correspond   pond, and to facilitate the interchange of ideas respecting improvements in the various branches of the work with which they are connected, and the publication and communication of information on such subjects

(c)

To create friendly and sympathetic feelings between Members in their labours, and to foster mutual help between them in the discharge of their duties.

WHO MAY BECOME MEMBERS.

The Institution admits Members, Associate Members, Students, Fellows and Associate Fellows.

    Members must hold or have held an appointment as Supervisor of work connected with the construction, maintenance or operation of Locomotives or Rolling Stock, or may be persons whom the Council may advance from Associate Members to Members. Members must not be under 25 years of age.

    Associate Members must hold or have held the positions of Enginemen, Firemen, Fitters, or be craftsmen or persons who have acquired or are acquiring a knowledge of the construction, maintenance or operation of Locomotives or Rolling Stock. Associate Members must not be under 21 years of age.

    Students must be persons upwards of 17 years and not over 21 years of age, and must at the time of election be employed on some branch of Locomotive or Rolling Stock construction, maintenance or operation.

    Fellows and Associate Fellows must be gentlemen having a friendly interest in promoting the Aims and Objects of the Institution,

   This was presented by this Gentlemen during his Presidency, 1935, to the Member introducing most Members during the year.

    W. A Agnew, Esq., had the first Honour 1935 and H Cheal, Esq., winner for 1936.


 ANNUAL REPORT

   The Council in presenting the report for 1936 have to state the activities of the Institution have been well maintained.

    Our President and Officers have again given of their best whilst the Council have attended the Meetings with zealousness as will be seen by their attendances.

    The Council extend to J. Clayton Esq., their appreciation for accepting the office as President which has been carried out with great success.

ANNUAL DINNER.

    This was attended December 19th at the Baltic Restaurant by nearly 250 persons and under the Presidency of J. Clayton, Esq. supported by many Officers and Vice-Chairman. During the evening, the Chairman of Committee presented Medallions to President, Past President, Hon. Vice-President and Chairman, also the oldest member of the Institution who was present at the 1st Meeting of the Institution at King's Cross Station Institute.
