Educational Free Pass

This is an educational visit, so those members with protected (safeguarded) travel facilities can apply for an educational free pass.  Please see: Free Pass for further information.

The free pass ticket should be from your home station to Eastleigh

Rail Tickets for those without an Educational Free Pass or ‘Priv’ Facilities

An off-peak return, valid on the above trains is £44.10 or £28.15 with a valid railcard.

It is possible to slightly reduce the ticket price by using split tickets:

London Waterloo to Farnborough Main - £19.90 Off-Peak Return + Farnborugh Main to Eastleigh for £22.20 Off Peak Return making a total of £42.10 or £27.75 with a railcard.

There are no advance tickets available, so it is the same price if brought in advance or purchased on the day.

Book at South Western Railways or any National Rail website.  

DO NOT use thetrainline or other similar third party sites as you will pay more as these sites charge fees which National Rail Train Operator websites do not charge.

From Eastleigh station we will walk to Campbell Road to meet our guide for the day at 09.45.

After a briefing, the tour will commence at 10.00hrs

Cost

The cost of this visit is £10 each, payable on the day.

Personal Protective Equipment

An orange high-visibility jacket / coat and safety shoes must be warn for this visit.  These need to be supplied by those undertaking this visit - they will not be supplied by our hosts.

Note that Screwfix and other similar retailers sell orange hi-vis jackets (currently £3.99 at Screwfix) and safety shoes (from £19.99 at Screwfix) if you do not have these already.

Return Travel to London

It is not possible to predict when this visit will conclude and there will be an opportunity to have lunch after the visit.  Return trains from Eastleigh to London Waterloo are at:  12.47, 13.47, 14.48 and 15.47 with a typical journey time of around 1 hour and 25 minutes.
